FALLEN
HEROES CHILDREN'S EDUCATION FUND

We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Tribute to the Troops Fallen
Heroes Children’s Education Fund. This education
fund will be used to provide funding for education
accounts setup in the names of the children of Minnesota’s
fallen soldiers. Eligible children are those surviving
sons and daughters, including step-children, of fallen
soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the conflicts
in Afghanistan or Iraq. There are no other qualifications
necessary and no application process.
Each
child’s account will be opened through the Minnesota
College Savings
Plan program, as a 529 savings account, and will
be available to fund post-secondary education expenses
including tuition, room & board, books and supplies and other qualifying expenses. We strongly believe
that each surviving child of one of our fallen heroes
be provided the opportunity to pursue post-secondary
education and our excited to contribute to this important
goal.
While we cannot heal
their wounds or take away their pain, we can show
them that we care and are willing to do our part
to honor their parent’s sacrifice. We will make annual
contributions to each child’s account until we reach
a pre-determined funding level. With help from our
supporters, sponsors and donors, we will help make
the dream of an education come true for these children.
On Saturday, September 27, TTTT presented it's first disbursement for the Fallen
Heroes Education Fund. Elizabeth and Michael Mettille
were awarded $5,000.00 each to complete their college
studies. They are the children of Michael Mettille,
who lost his life while defending our freedoms in
2007.
